Meeting Great G'ma and G'pa, along with Quinn

No need to adjust your screen, this is as tan as this family gets!

Next stop: Stuart, Florida to visit with Nanny, Grandpa, Aunt Jen, Uncle Tim, and cousin Quinn

Catching up

Here comes another set of photos, which should catch us up into July. We haven't taken a ton of shots since our trip over fourth of July to visit family. It was a delightful extended weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed sharing the beach and pool with James - he started to warm up to both, since they were a bit warmer than in New Jersey. It was also great to introduce him to even more family - my grandparents, Aunt Kathy and Uncle Mark, and my cousin Mel(issa). I'm bummed that we don't have any photos of James with Kathy, Mark or Mel on our camera, but hopefully someone else got something.

I'll go ahead and post the photos, then post a quick update narrative.

More news and photos are coming soon... stay tuned!

Closing this update with a couple of cute shots

First cousin, once-removed Kerrian was also there, as was cousin Kim (no picture)

On the trip home, we stopped by Baltimore to visit Great Aunt Eileen.

Another Shoshana photo op

At the wedding reception with Great Nana

That's about as much fun as the ocean water!

After the beach, took a dip in the pool.

But there are plenty of babes ready to pick you up!

A word to the wise - the water in NJ in June is C-O-L-D

I enjoy sunrise wakings, candlelight nursing, and long walks on the beach.

Made a real "impression" at the beach

I'll get around to sand castles another day. For now, it's Link-a-doos!

Working on my tan (in the shade)

While in Cape May/Avalon, NJ for the wedding, we couldn't resist taking James for his first beach visit!

James met Great Aunt Shoshana while we went to New Jersey for a family wedding.

The Latest

James turned five months old a couple of days ago. His developments over the past month have been astounding, and I am sure they will continue to be so. His biggest accomplishment has been to start deliberately reaching for things, which he started to do around 4 months, but has since become better able to actually grab things... and pull everything toward his mouth.

He has also continued to experiment with his voice, steadily expanding his vocabulary. During certain times of the day, he will just talk and talk to whomever is nearby, or to himself. He laughs and giggles - it is a real joy to see and hear.

James is working on turning over from his back to his stomach, but isn't there yet. His cousin Quinn is now doing it, and since James got to see him over the fourth of July, I am sure he is eager to compete!

I'll post some of the many (and I mean MANY) photos from our trip to Florida sometime soon. We had a great time visiting my parents, Aunt Jennie, Uncle Tim, cousin Quinn, my grandparents, and my Uncle Mark, Aunt Kathie and cousin Mel.

Working on something.

Hush yourself, Nanny, I've got important stuff to say!

Hey there.

Remember the original shoe-comparison photo? My, how babies grow...

Got the All-Stars strapped on, ready to play!

Slacker-blog

I've been terrible about updating this blog over the past several weeks. Many apologies to those friends and family that have been checking it from time to time, finding the same ol' stuff up here forever.

I have a slew of new photos to post, so I will do that very soon. Stay tuned!
